Devon & Cornwall Constabulary Police Officers and Police Staff formed a self organised group in 2002 and adopted the aims objectives and constitution of the national group shortly after the renaming of the national organisation from LAGPA (Lesbian & Gay Police Association) to GPA (Gay Police Association).

Members of the Gay Police Association (GPA)The group meets regularly at locations throughout the force, outside of police premises so that members can discuss issues of concern and offer support to each other. The group is utilised by the force as a point of contact with gay officers in the force.

Respect is a North Devon social support group established since 2001 for young people aged 16-25 who identify themselves as being LGBTU - Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans or Unsure.

The group meets weekly on a Tuesday between 5-7pm in a safe and secure location in Barnstaple or Bideford.

The Eddystone Trust is an independent organisation providing information, training, and support for anyone affected by HIV and AIDS in the Devon & Cornwall areas of the UK . Their work covers:

• Targeted HIV Prevention (including gay men’s health work)
• Community HIV Prevention (including campaigns and training)
• Hepatitis C (information and support to individuals and workers)
• HIV Support (information and support to people affected by HIV)
• Sexual health training and information services

The Intercom Trust provide an extensive range of LGBT community support services across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset. Present campaigns include:

• Phobic crime
• Schools and Colleges
• Incitement to hatred laws
• Prejudice and discrimination in Whitehall and Government Offices
• Local policies and strategic planning
• Monitoring
