Hawkins Meeting Place, in Bretonside, a large pub close to the bus station in Plymouth, is now a gay run venue - check out the sign on the entry door stating this is a gay venue if you don't have a problem with this then you are welcome!
They have food lunchtimes and early evenings and a carvery, eat as much as you like, sunday buffet which is proving very popular, there is a beer garden and car park, pool table, three large rooms.
Plymouth Pride Event was set up in late 2005 in order to organise some form of LGBT Pride event in the city. They are a committee of LGBT people, organisations and partner organisations who are all working towards raising awareness of our communities.
In 2006 they held their first events and the city's first LGBT Festival in June. In 2007, they organised Plymouth's first ever LGBT Pride Festival. Plymouth Pride Event 2008 took place on June 7th with the festival in the Guildhall and was a big hit.
The Plymouth Pride Forum has been set up to make Plymouth a place where lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans people and communities can live, work and celebrate life free from discrimination, prejudice and fear.

After closing in May 2008, Plymouth's oldest gay venue, The Clarence reopened in June 2008.
The grand re-opening was on Friday 13th June 2008, with Shaz M (live singer) and it was a great success and very well supported. The bar has been decorated throughout.
